The Coach’s Background
Personal
Julie's success as a personal coach comes from a combination of a willingness
to talk straight, an ability to see beyond the content of a situation,
compassion and a belief that self-awareness is a key to achieving desired
results. Her own life reveals common threads of perseverance and determination
that ultimately inspire her clients, colleagues, and community. The way
that Julie has chosen to deal with her unique personal situation forms
the root of her inspiration.
Julie has been losing her vision since adolescence and has been legally
blind for many years. Julie often voices determination and a positive
attitude that have guided her through her many life challenges. Julie
often refers to the fact that “I am not visually impaired… I have a visual
impairment.” Her steadfast work to remove any obstacles Julie sums up
as “I refuse to be at the effect of what life hands out”, which also speaks
volumes about her daily attitude. These are fundamental statements of
Julie’s outlook on life.
A well rounded individual, Julie set herself the high standard of "…
I let nothing stand in my way". For example, she has participated
in many extreme sports including rock climbing, cliff jumping, parachuting,
to name a few. Well traveled, Julie has visited Japan, Hong Kong, Hawaii,
the islands of Greece, and Europe. She’s also lived in Mexico, visited
Belize and the jungles of Guatemala with her dog guide.
Now a formally trained personal coach, Julie brings a clear understanding
about coaching coupled with the ability to train her clients to remove
their own obstacles. “When people have a paradigm shift, what used to
look like a problem now looks like an opportunity." This phrase has
helped Julie live a life she has designed, where daily, she has the opportunity
to help others find their personal design on life.
